About Me

I am an author, book reviewer, entrepreneur, blogger and virtual book tour coordinator at iRead Book Tours, my professional book tour company. My reading tastes vary greatly and I read both fiction and non-fiction. I review adult, YA and children's books, since I love reading to my children. I review books for pleasure and learning. You can find my thought on books at Library of Clean Reads.

I have a degree in Special Care Counseling and have worked as a psychiatric child counselor and as a special education technician at various institutions. I hold a diploma in Writing for Children and Teenagers and an advanced certificate in TESOL from the Canadian Institute of English.

I am currently working in a community centre developing and implementing adapted programs for senior's with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. I am married to a wonderful man, have two children and I'm trying to write my second novel. It's a busy life!

About my writing journey:
I have been writing as far back as I can remember, making use of poetry and short compositions throughout my youth to express my ideas and feelings. One of my early goals in life was to write a novel. I began several of them, but never brought them to completion… until one day my sister asked, “Laura, when are you going to finish that book you once talked about writing?”

That's when I finally sat down and began to write where I had left off in 2000, when the idea for Daughter of Mine was sparked listening to my mother-in-law’s stories of her youth in her native Naples.

Italy has always held a special place for me because my parents are Italian immigrants. My father is from the beautiful mountainous region of Pescara in Abruzzo and my mother from the romantic city of Rome. In addition, my maternal grandmother came from a noble family in Gaeta, Naples. I have traveled several times to Italy and stayed in my ancestral home in Rome with my relatives.

When not writing or immersed in study, I divide my time between taking care of my family and sharing in a volunteer worldwide Bible education program. Of all the literature I have read, the Holy Scriptures have shaped my life the most. I have deep respect for this book that has influenced some of the world’s greatest art, literature, music and has had a significant impact on law. I believe it teaches us how to live the best life now and in the future.
